How Much Does a Drone Light Show Cost?
Planning ranges for small, mid-size and large drone shows in the US — and what really moves the price.
Planning ranges (guidance only)
Industry evidence puts smaller shows of roughly 100–150 drones at around US$15,000–25,000, while large productions with hundreds or thousands of drones and custom animation commonly run above US$100,000. These are illustrative planning ranges, not quotes — every show is priced on its own site, date and creative brief.
What moves the price
Fleet size is the biggest driver, followed by custom animation (logos, 3D figures and narrative sequences take design time), music composition and sync, travel and crew lodging, site and airspace complexity, waiver work, insurance limits required by the venue, pyro-drone effects, and whether a backup date must be held.
Repeat and multi-night shows
Festivals, theme parks and tourism destinations that book several nights or a recurring season usually pay less per show than a single date, because the fleet, crew and approvals are already in place. Ask for a per-show and a package price.
How to get comparable quotes
Send every provider the same brief: event type, location, date and backup date, outdoor or indoor, audience size, fleet size (or "unsure"), creative needs and budget band. Our quote form captures exactly these fields so quotes can be compared line by line.
